What ‘War on Christmas’?

I just had my annual spat with my mother over the whole Christian versus non-Christian thing. Whereas I think that all Americans should be afforded the same basic respect and inclusiveness when it comes to holiday celebrations, my mother reminds me that things were different when she was a girl.

Well, I stumbled across an article that pretty much sums things up. It addresses the non-issue that Conservatives have dubbed “The War on Christmas,” which they trot out annually to frighten Christians into thinking they're not going to be allowed to celebrate Christmas. I imagine I'll be forwarding this article to my mother. Hopefully she will understand a bit of what I've been trying to say. This is a non-issue. It's smoke and mirrors and fear-mongering.

Personally, I would prefer to think that Christians are smarter than that.
